Updated over a month ago

Framework Introduction

The Learning Pathways database and tool is aligned with the National Dementia Education and Training Standards Framework (2024).

The National Dementia Education and Training Standards Framework is a comprehensive guide developed by Dementia Training Australia (DTA) in collaboration with the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHAC). This framework aims to establish consistent standards for dementia education and training across various settings.

Overview

The framework addresses the need for standardised outcomes in dementia education, promoting quality and evidence-based support for individuals living with dementia. It aligns with recommendations from the Royal Commission into Quality and Safety in Aged Care Final Report and integrates with the National Dementia Action Plan.

DTA has undertaken multi-sector stakeholder engagement within and beyond the health and aged care sectors. DTA, supported by a Sector Stakeholder Group, Expert Reference Group, and Living Experience Reference Group, actively engages with over 70 Subject Matter Experts from 40 organisations. This collaborative approach ensures a comprehensive and inclusive framework.

Government Endorsement and Collaboration

Development of the Standards Framework is supported by the Royal Commission into Quality and Safety in Aged Care Final Report Recommendations and integrated with the National Dementia Action Plan.
